TimBackup Archive
Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
TimBackup Archive is a personal Windows application for uploading selected folders to your Google Drive and verifying the uploaded files. This policy describes how the application handles your data.
Data the application processes
- Selected files and folders: the content you choose to archive.
- File metadata: names, paths, sizes, timestamps, Google Drive file identifiers and checksums used to organize uploads and verify them.
- Google account email: used to identify the connected account.
- Storage quota: used to check available Google Drive space.
- OAuth tokens: used to maintain the Google access you authorize.
Google Drive access and use
Google Drive file access is limited to the
drive.file permission
(https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file). This
allows access to files the application creates or that you
explicitly open or share with it; it does not grant unrestricted
access to every file in your Drive.
The application uses this access to upload your chosen folders into the TimBackup Archive folder and check file sizes and checksums. Account email and storage quota information are used only to identify the destination account and support archiving.
Transfer, storage and sharing
Files are transferred directly from your computer to Google Drive using encrypted HTTPS connections. They do not pass through this website or a separate archive server. Your uploaded archives are stored in your Google Drive account.
OAuth tokens are stored on your computer with Windows encryption. The application processes file metadata locally and uses the relevant metadata in Google Drive to organize and verify uploads.
Your files and Google account data are used for personal archiving and verification. They are not sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models. Google processes the data stored in Drive under its own policies.
This informational website has no sign-in, upload forms, analytics or application cookies. It does not receive your archive files or OAuth tokens.
Revoke access and delete archives
- Open your Google Account connections settings.
- Select TimBackup Archive and remove its access to your Google Account.
Revoking access prevents future authorized access by the application. Previously uploaded archives remain in Google Drive after disconnection. To delete them, remove the relevant files or the TimBackup Archive folder in Google Drive and empty the Drive trash if you want to permanently delete them.
